ARCCN’s start-up WiMark Systems has become one of the winners among telecommunication projects
On October 29th, winners were announced for the contest Skonnect-2015 in Moscow. Second place was awarded to WiMark Systems, the start-up of the IT-Cluster resident Applied Research Centre for Computer Networks. First place was awarded to Microwave Systems with their project «Multimedia microwave communications system (E-band)”. The third place went to the project of PromoAtlas. The contest aims to select the most innovative and potentially interesting investment projects of Russian Telco market for subsequent financial and mentoring support of their development efforts with the help of Russian development institutions, venture capital and investors. According to Alexey Belyakov, vice president and executive director of Cluster of Space Technologies and Telecommunications, 39 applications were sent for this year’s contest SKonnect, 16 companies made it to the semi-finals, where final eight projects were selected. Three of them have won the competition and will automatically receive the status of a Skolkovo resident, as well as a grant from the Skolkovo Foundation at the following rates: the first place — 5 million rubles; the second place – 4 million rubles, the third place — 3 million rubles. SKonnect winners will also receive financial support in the amount of two million rubles from the “Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in science and technology”.
