ExpoComm.jpgIt was organized by E.J. Krause & Associates with the assistance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF, the Information Technology Department of Moscow, and the following associations: APKIT, RUSSOFT NP, GLONASS/GNSS-Forum, Astra, HD union, ARPP, and Association of European Businesses (AEB). It was held as a part of ICT Week in WTC.

Expo Comm Russia is the main meeting point to demonstrate recent innovations of the ICT industry, to obtain new contracts, to exchange experiences, to discuss current trends, and to explore new solutions offered by IT companies. The exhibition part was divided into the following key areas: communication infrastructure; communications as a service; digital services; and ICT availability.

International Info-Media Communication Forum was a part of Expo Comm Russia and took place from 19 to 20 April 2016.

At the forum, Timofey Smelyanskiy, ARCCN Business Development Director, talked on the topic «Russian SDN&NFV solutions». The report pointed out the differences between the standard approach to network implementation and the approach using SDN technologies. It is not a secret that with the help of SDN major providers and network owners gain a unique opportunity to develop their own platforms and services. We can already talk about successful projects in this field and may even try to estimate the economy SDN&NFV technologies. In his speech, Timofey talked about Russian companies that are currently using new approaches to implement computer networks and about the advantages of their solutions.

It is expected that the SDN market will grow rapidly in the upcoming years, and a boom in deployments is expected in 2018. However, it is important to understand that the SDN market in Russia is still under development, and due to the lack of standards, there is no universal approach to the implementation of these technologies. This allows manufacturers to compete not only from the point of the functions but also from the point of architecture.
