ARCCN at the international SDN&NFV conference “SDN&NFV Russia 2017”

Annual International SDN&NFV Conference “SDN&NFV RUSSIA 2017” took place at Holiday Inn Suschevsky on March 15, 2016. ARCCN became an informational partner of the Conference.

IMG_5919.JPGRepresentatives of national authorities, equipment vendors, telecom operators, solution providers, representatives of IT departments and corporate sector services, business and industry media representatives, attended the event.

In the first section "Market trends and perspectives", the representatives of TMT Consulting, J'son & Partners, Orange Business Services, and NTC KOMSET discussed the SDN market development in Russia and in the world, the impact of SDN and NFV on the development of the digital economics, the perspectives for the SDN mandatory equipment certification in Russia, and many other questions.

The participants of the Conference talked about the advantages of NFV in telecom networks and use of SDN in Enterprise networks, and about pilot projects of Rostelecom in the field of NFV. They also discussed the ways of transfer to SDN & NFV and what barriers it may mean. Among the speakers were representatives of VimpelCom, Robonect, Rostelecom, ADV Consulting, Ciena and CROC.

IMG_6063.JPGAt the third section, participants discussed new opportunities for the development of modern networks. Andrey Fomkin from Megafon spoke about the current problems of NFV implementation. Vladimir Valkovich from Virgin Connect spoke about the integration of telephone networks with SDN networks, and Oleg Sadov from ITMO spoke about SDN in protected quantum connections. Within the framework of this section, Alexander Shalimov, Head of the SDN solutions development department at ARCCN, made a report on "PILOT ZONES FOR TESTING OF SDN & NFV SOLUTIONS IN RUSSIA".

At the round table discussion after the main part of the Conference, the participants talked about the impact of new technologies, such as IoT, IIoT, Fog Computing, Big Data and OTT TV, on the use and application of SDN & NFV technologies. ALEXANDER SHALIMOV became a moderator of this discussion with Megafon, Rostelecom, ADV Consulting, Vodafone Russia, CROC and Brain4Net among the participants..
